Bid for Gozo, European Region of Gastronomy 2026

Bid Book finalised & submitted

The Gozo Regional Council in collaboration with partners such as the Gozo Business Chamber, the Institute of Tourism Studies, the Gozo Regional Development Authority, the Gozo Tourism Association, Gozo College, and the Gozo NGOs Association, are pleased to announce the submission of the final version of the Region for Gastronomy – Gozo 2026 bid book to the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts, and Tourism on December 14, 2023.

The preparation of this comprehensive document was facilitated by the dedicated efforts of the  Gozo Regional Council with collaboration from the ARC Research & Consultancy team.

This submission signifies Gozo’s formal bid to be designated as the Region for Gastronomy in 2026, a prestigious recognition that will allow us to showcase and celebrate our rich Gozitan culinary heritage and local produce. Through a series of carefully planned projects, we aim to foster education, understanding, and community cohesion through the lens of gastronomy.

We eagerly anticipate the outcome of this bid, which is scheduled to be announced in February. Your support and enthusiasm for this endeavour are greatly appreciated.
